        • Red pepper
        • Chili powder

        • Cumin

If you want to make it hot, you can add black pepper.

Beyond the basics, these nachos chips two special secrets are cheddar powder and collagen. Both are optional, but adding them is a great way to increase the flavor of the fries.

        What is Cheddar Powder?

Cheddar powder is dry cheddar cheese, which can be made into a cheese sauce or used as a dry seasoning for fries or popcorn.

        What is Collagen Powder?

The structural protein called collagen is known to support hair, skin, nails, and joints. In the form of a supplement, collagen peptides are tasteless powders (most often) and provide 20 grams of protein per serving.

If you are on a high protein diet and want to eat the fries without any other protein source, this would be a great option!

When the potatoes are cut, it will hold together while the remaining slices are cut together. Then you can easily finish the cutting completely. After cutting the potatoes vertically, divide the potato in half (two or three layers on one side) and place the potato in the center. You can then easily cut the chunk from end to another creating a thin chunk and your fires will be ready.

        Side Note
If you skip the section above cheddar powder and collagen are optional additions. Adding cheddar powder is highly recommended, especially for dipping sauce made from cheese

        Soak or not to soak

Nacho fries require soaking potatoes before cooking. We have not yet determined whether this phase is 100 percent necessary, but some starch may break down during soaking, creating more crisp fries. If time is scarce, you can skip this step. However, if you want to keep the fries with minimal oil you can chop and then soak in hot water for 20-30 minutes.

        Gluten-Free

It’s important to know that these are not gluten-free. As the fries are fried in a common fryer oil, it cannot be gluten-free completely. The cheese used in cheese sauce can be gluten-free as it is mostly made of milk, rennet and bacteria. However, make sure you look at the ingredients before purchasing if you are following a gluten-free diet.
