So, let’s see what things we will need to turn this idea of chicken nugget into reality. First, come first, you should get some boneless chicken. Boneless chicken breasts can serve the purpose. Take a chicken breast and then cut it into small 1 inch’s cubes. Now that your chicken, the basic ingredient of your recipe is ready, let us see what else should we look for in the kitchen.

  1. Lodge Cast Dutch Oven: it is probably the best idea to deep fry your chicken but a simple wok or deep pan can also do the job.
  2. Pig Tail Flipper: if you want to flip your chicken during frying, quickly and easily, then pigtail flipper is a better option than a traditional tong.
  3. Spider Strainer: Instead of using paper towels, place the cooked chicken in this strainer to get the perfect crispy texture.
  4. Breading Station: A small, shallow, and rectangular tray or plate can do this job in which you can easily dredge the chicken and remove the excess of the breading mixture.

This Chick fil A nuggets recipe is the perfect dish to create for yourself from the comfort of your own home. You’re in for an absolute treat, as we teach you how to prepare this chick-fil-a chicken nugget copycat recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 large 2 eggs

  • 1 cup 1 milk

  • 1-pound chicken breasts cut into 1″ chunks

  • 3/4 cup 3/4 flour

  • 3/4 cup 3/4 breadcrumbs

  • 2 tablespoons 2 powdered sugar

  • 2 teaspoons 2 Kosher salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 white pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon 1/4 chili powder

  • 3 tablespoons 3 of peanut oil

Directions

  • The first step is to convert the breadcrumbs into a very fine mixture. To do so, simply blend your breadcrumbs in the food processor and keep them aside. While doing so, make sure that your food processor container is completely dry.
  • Now in a bowl, whisk eggs with milk and soak the chicken pieces in this egg-milk mixture. Transfer this chicken and milk mixture to a Ziplock bag and seal the bag.
  • Marinate the chicken by placing it in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes. Meanwhile, get the rest of the ingredients ready. Take a Dutch oven and pour peanut oil into the Dutch oven up to its 3inches from its base.
  • Put this Dutch oven medium heat and allow the oil to heat up to 375 degrees F. Keep the temperature maintained to get evenly cooked nice and golden-brown nuggets.
  • Now whisk breadcrumbs with salt, sugar, flour, chili powder, and white pepper in a suitably large bowl, preferably a broad and a shallow one.
  • Remove the chicken from the egg-milk mixture and dredge each of the pieces through the flour mixture such that it is coated evenly from all the sides. Shake off the excess of the flour mixture.
  • Remember the oil in the Dutch oven? Well, now it must be heated up to the right temperature. Add the coated chicken to the hot oil and deep fry them until they are golden brown from all the sides. This may take 2 to 3 minutes.
  • As soon as the chicken is done, remove it to a strainer placed in a baking tray using a slotted spoon and let the oil drain from the chicken.
  • Serve the freshly cooked chicken nuggets with your favorite sauce and dips.

Other Cooking Methods:

I know deep-frying does not sound like a healthy option for the majority of the people who can not have too many fats in their diet. So, here is good news! You can use other alternatives methods as well to enjoy the same crisp of the copycat chick fil a grilled nuggets.

My personal favorite is Air frying! If you have an air fryer at home, then you can easily ditch the traditional deep frying. Whether it’s these chicken fil nuggets or any other food, by cooking in the air fryer, you can give your food a nice golden crispy coating on the outside. All you will need to do is to place the bread chicken pieces in the Air fryer basket and cook the fillets on the Air fryer mode for 7-10 minutes at about 350 degrees F and Voila!

Baking is also a good alternative to traditional deep frying, but you will have to flip the chicken pieces when they are cooked halfway through.

How To Store the Chick fil A Nuggets?

The breaded chicken fillet nuggets can be stored for a longer duration in your freezer. While the cooked chicken fillet can get soggy and soft upon longer storage, the uncooked breaded ones can be easily stored and then you can simply deep fry them before serving. In this, you will get to enjoy the same taste and crisp every time. And that’s what I actually do, over the weekends the prepare the chicken fillets with all the breading and flour coating. Then I freeze them in my freezer to enjoy during the rest of the week.

To store these nuggets, you will need a baking tray or pan. Place the breaded chicken nuggets in the baking tray that should be lined with baking paper. Put these nuggets in the freezer for about 2 hours just until they get firm. Now you can transfer these fillets to a container or a Ziplock bag then store them in the freezer up to 6 months and fry whenever needed.
