How To Make Burger King Chicken Nuggets
First, start by preparing your chicken. Your chicken breasts should be deboned, skin removed and diced into 1 ½ inch pieces. Set aside the diced chicken until it is needed.
In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, garlic, salt and black pepper. Mix all of the ingredients until they are evenly distributed.
Next, place your chicken pieces in the seasoned flour and toss them around to get a nice and even coating. Set the bowl aside for later use.
Set out two medium bowls in front of you. In the first bowl, whisk together the egg and milk (or water). In the second bowl, place your breadcrumbs and season it with fine salt and black pepper.
When you are ready to start, remove the chicken pieces from the seasoned flour.
Using the wet-hand-dry-hand method, (see instructions in the tips & tricks section), dip each chicken piece into the egg mixture and then the breadcrumbs. Make sure the pieces are well coated before frying them.
Heat your vegetable oil to around 320 degrees Fahrenheit. Working in batches, fry the chicken pieces for about 2-3 minutes per side. Once the chicken pieces are cooked, drain them on a wire rack or paper towel.

Tips & Tricks
- The breadcrumb is arguably the most important part of a chicken nugget so choosing the correct type is very important. For these Burger King chicken nuggets, choose a very fine breadcrumb to mimic their texture best.
Something like panko breadcrumbs will give you a crispy nugget, but won’t mimic their smooth crust.
- The wet-hand, dry-hand method is a very common and efficient method used when crumbing food items. If you have ever crumbed food before, you know it can very quickly become a mess.
This method is very simple. You simply use one hand (and only that hand) to coat the chicken in the egg mixture, then using that “wet-hand” so move it over to the breadcrumb bowl.
Then you use your other hand (the dry-hand) to coat the piece in breadcrumbs. You then use your “dry-hand” to move the chicken onto a tray.
This is a very effective way to coat the food and not your fingers.
- Once you have crumbed your chicken pieces, you can choose to freeze them and fry them later. This will make prep time for dinners or parties much quicker and convenient.
