One of the most delicious desserts, afternoon treats or just anytime snack is the bisquick strawberry shortcake. Make this in 20 minutes and serve up to 6 of your favorite family and friends.

  • Sliced strawberries

  • ¼ cup of sugar

  • 2 1/3 of the original mix from Bisquick

  • One half of milk in a cup

  • 3 tablespoons 3 of sugar

  • 3 tablespoons 3 of melted margarine and butter

  • ½ cup of whipping cream

  • The oven should be preheated for about 425 degrees F.
  • You can start to prepare the filling that is needed, and those are strawberries: with the ¼ cup of our sugar and the strawberries combine them together. Put them aside for a bit.
  • Get a big bowl, without Bisquick mix, our milk, the butter, and the three tablespoons of our sugar. Keep stirring until soft dough appears.
  • With a baking sheet, put a spoonful of our dough so that it can make 6 discs. The batter will have much butter, so greasing is not needed.
  • You can now bake our shortcakes for about 20 minutes or when it is golden brown.
  • While we are waiting for our shortcakes, prepare the whipped cream. Grab another bowl. That is where you beat our whipping cream. An electric mixer would be better and make sure that its speed is high. If soft peaks, then you are done!
  • Cakes can be assembled: Shortcakes should be cut half crosswise. The top can be filled with whipped cream and strawberries.
  • Now you can enjoy it!

  • You can put a small amount of lemon juice to the mixture for filling so that the strawberries flavor can be enhanced.
  • If you want your shortcakes to have the same size and shape, the dough should be flattening onto a thick sheet and then with a biscuit cutter cut them out. Remember to not twist your cutter to the dough. If you do, the edges of the biscuit will be sealed, and it will not rise.
  • Before you use the strawberries, let them macerate in the sugar for maybe almost 20 minutes. Giving them this kind of time will let them have the time they need to let out their juices. You can also use the vanilla and maybe even orange liquor in flavoring your strawberries.

Tips and Tricks

Of course, I won’t forget to give you some tips and tricks in making these strawberry shortcakes perfect every time.

1.If you do not have any strawberries, you can use other fruits such as plums, maybe peaches, or blueberries, and many other berries.
2.You can place your biscuits very close to each other so they can help one another to rise.
3.The shortcakes should be cooled off before you slice each and every one of them. Slicing them when they are just fresh from the oven is a very bad idea, the shortcakes may fall apart.
4.The cream being whipped should be the right amount because it might turn to butter. Whip it until soft peaks. Do you want the cream to be sweeter? You can put a tablespoon of your sugar and some vanilla after you whip it.
5.If you want something that is simpler, using whipped cream that is just from a can is easy. If you are the type of person who is always busy, sometimes taking shortcuts is just necessary! Doing this can keep your sanity.
6.For about 30 minutes, you may let the bowl and mixer beaters, and the whipped cream chill before you whip. The longer that all of them stay inside the fridge, your whipped cream will have a lot more volume than it normally does.
9.Let the dough chill for a straight 20 minutes before you from them all into shortcakes.
10.This kind of shortcake recipe is biscuit based. Want more consistency that is a lot of cake-like? You may put 2 eggs and a single tablespoon of your sugar onto the batter.
11.In mixing the batter, it is best to use your hands so that it can make the shortcake biscuits buttery. It is okay if it has lumps and some bumps.
12. If you want to make the biscuit layers flakier, the dough can be laminated. 3 to 4 times, the batter should be folded onto itself.
13.The biscuit’s top can be brushed with some heavy cream so that it can make them a little browner.
14.You can spoon some of the strawberry juice to the shortcake so that the biscuits can absorb all of its sweetness.
