TikTok Green Goddess Salad

The TikTok Green Goddess Salad is more than a mouthful of words. It’s a vegan dish that rose to viral fame late last year. It’s not just the salad either. It’s also a dressing, which will make you want to throw out your Ranch, Thousand Island, and Yum-Yum.

It may look like a decidedly green version of cole slaw, however, it’s anything but. Its crunchy texture is more than small enough to enjoy with a spoon, rather than a fork.

How to Make TikTok Green Goddess Salad

Despite all of the ingredients, making TikTok Green Goddess Salad is a cinch and there will be enough for 4 servings, including the dressing, which is probably the best part about the whole dish.

First, we’ll start with the dressing. The salad part is pretty simple and doesn’t take long at all. The salad dressing is a little more involved. Since you’ll be using a blender or a food processor, you don’t need to take the time to cut up anything—just combine all of the ingredients for the salad dressing.

As chopped salads go, this is one recipe you have to try for yourself. The ingredients are a bit extensive but you probably have some of them in your cabinets and fridge already.

Lemons: Use two fresh lemons, squeezed until they won’t produce any more juice. Don’t use the plastic, lemon-shaped containers for your juice, as it’s just not the same.
Olive Oil: Olive oil gives it a thicker texture
Rice Vinegar: This is the tang portion of the dressing
Shallot: The yin to the rice vinegar’s yang. Adds a sweet onion flavor.
Cloves of Garlic: Everybody loves garlic.
Fresh Basil: For a touch of herbal presence in the dressing
Baby Spinach: Spinach provides that rich, leafy flavor that helps make the dressing so appealing.
Salt: Salt brings everything together and plus, it’s salt.
Nutritional Yeast: The warm, cheesy flavor comes from the yeast
Walnuts: Provides a nutty flavor but can be substituted with another nut.

The reason that this is so simple, is all of these ingredients go into the blender or food processor at the same time. Start at the slow setting on the blender and work your way up to puree. Just make sure that you put all of your liquids in first, followed by everything else.

Putting the liquids in first will help the blender catch and puree everything.

You’ll need either a food processor or a good size blender. A small or medium blender won’t be enough. You’ll also need a sharp knife for a lot of cutting, a few bowls and cup measurements for all of the seasonings, and a cutting board.

How Long Will It Last?

All you have to do is take everything that you diced up and set aside as much as you want to eat and place the rest in the fridge, where it will keep for between 2 and 3 days. It shouldn’t last past the third day because it’s too good to pass up. But, if it does, toss it.
