Making this recipe couldn’t be simpler. If you want to ensure the glaze has a chunky texture then it is import that you use a sieve or a food-processor. In our recipe we use a food processer due to the speed at which it can get to work and the outcome is always perfect. This is recommend post cooking.

You don’t need many ingredients at all to make this delicious homemade strawberry glazing. The ingredients natural begin with strawberries, a thickener such as cornstarch, some sugar to sweeten further, a dash of water you can also use coloring to provide a glistening finish.

There is an unlimited number of desserts you can use this mixture on and no matter which one you choose, it will be the perfect addition.

This homemade strawberry glaze recipe makes a perfect topping for your desserts and can compliment absolutely any dish you please. From cheesecake, pies to shortcakes, this is one glazing you do not want to miss out on and best of all, it only takes 12 minutes to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup 1 of fresh Strawberries, washed and crushed

  • 1 cup 1 of sugar

  • 3 tablespoons 3 cornstarch

  • 3/4 cup 3/4 water

  • Food coloring (optional)

Directions

  • Crush up the strawberries and place them into a bowl
  • Using a sauce pan, add in the 3 tablespoons of cornstarch and then the cup of sugar
  • Add your water and the strawberries that have been mashed up.
  • In the saucepan, all of the ingredient should be brought to a boil, with constant stirring throughout.
  • Recommended to cook this and continue to stir for approx 4 minutes or until thick.
  • If you plan to use food coloring, then add this in now.
  • You can then remove. the saucepan placing the mixture into a bowl, where it should be left to cool down for 15 minutes.
  • Following this, you can put the strawberries into the food processor or through a sieve, if they are not smooth enough.
  • Serve over your favorite dessert.

Notes

  • You can use food coloring as an optional addition to the ingredients, however it’s not fully necessary.
