How To Make Bisquick Peach Cobbler

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease an 8x8x2 inch baking dish with a non-stick cooking spray or brush the sides with melted butter. Alternatively, line the baking dish with a non-stick baking paper.

In a large bowl, combine the Bisquick and ground nutmeg. Slowly add the milk and melted butter and mix until all of the ingredients are fully incorporated. Any additional ingredients can be gently mixed in at this point.

Place the mixture into the lined baking dish. In a separate bowl, combine the peach slices and sugar and mix well. Spoon the peach mixture over the batter in the baking dish.

Bake the mixture for 50-60 minutes, or until golden brown.

This is a cobbler recipe that truly has it all – wonderful textures, sticky sweet flavors and it doesn’t even require a ton of work!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Original Bisquick Mix

  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • 1 cup milk

  • ½ cup butter, melted

  • 1 can (29 ounces) sliced peaches, drained

  • 1 cup granulated white sugar

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Grease an 8x8x2 inch baking dish with a non-stick cooking spray or brush the sides with melted butter or oil.
  • In a large bowl, combine the Bisquick mix and ground nutmeg. Slowly add the milk and melted butter and mix using a wooden spoon. Mix until all of the ingredients are fully incorporated. Be careful not to overmix to batter as it will lose its’ fluffy texture.
  • Additional flavoring ingredients can be gently folded in at this point. If you are adding nut butter or any ingredient with a thick consistency, melt it down to make it easier to incorporate.
  • Place the mixture into the lined baking dish. In a separate bowl, combine the peach slices and granulated sugar and mix well. Spoon the peach mixture over the batter in the baking dish.
  • Bake the mixture for 50-60 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and allow it to cool slightly before serving it warm with delicious homemade custard or vanilla bean ice cream.

Notes

  • If you cannot find sliced canned peaches, you can use whole canned peaches and slice them yourself. Alternatively, you can poach 2 peaches; simply remove the skin, slice the peaches and poach them in a thin simple syrup mixture for 10-15 minutes. Allow the peaches to cool down completely before using them.
  • Alternative fruits you can substitute the peaches with, in equal parts, include apples, pears, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries or virtually any other fruit you can think of. You can use canned versions or make a poached version like mentioned above.

  • For a more caramel-flavored cobbler, use granulated brown sugar or Muscavado sugar instead of white sugar.
  • You can also add additional flavoring ingredients such as vanilla essence or extract, cinnamon powder, peanut butter and so on. This is a very stable recipe so it can be easily adjusted to create the perfect cobbler of your choice.
